iOuting Workshop – Capture your Outing Experience
Kowling and I found that there are many interesting places in Singapore which are best kept secret to Singaporeans and tourists. How about coming close and personal and document our experience through photos, drawings and video slideshow? With the advancement in mobile technology, we can stitch the digital media content into a personalised video slideshow and share via social media! This is how the concept of iOuting workshop was conceived. It will be a series of workshop where we shall introduce learners to different parts of Singapore, guide them to create and share their unique experience in a fun way! Our first choice is the historical site of Telok Ayer – iOuting@Telok Ayer.
Telok Ayer is a miniature of Singapore where you can find different religious, social and cultural activities amidst the traditional versus modern, east versus west and old versus modern. One has to go there to appreciate it.
In order to make the trip worthwhile for our learners, Kowling and I went to Telok Ayer to identify landmarks and suitable places for the learners to shoot, sketch and take video snippet. For example, we love the Musical Box Museum where we can sit outside the café to do some sketching. The visit to the Musical Box museum is a mesmerising one as visitors will be treated with joyful experience weaved together with engineering, artistic and musical marvels.
Since 2019 will be the year where Singapore commemorates 200 years of history, we will be compiling pictures, collages and video slideshows from our learners on our website. The objective is to bring more awareness about this hidden gem of Singapore and entice the public to visit and capture their stories and memories of the place. It will be a meaningful way to engage the community to celebrate 200 years of history of Singapore! Akang tadang (coming soon) for more!
