iOuting @ Telok Ayer Art Trail
How did our first iOuting Workshop go? It is with much excitement that I created a short video to document it. As mentioned in a previous blog, Kowling and I selected Telok Ayer because it is such a charming place.
There were altogether 3 sessions for the workshop. In the first session, it was important that the participants understood the overall roadmap and committed to hard work. They learned how to take better pictures, what to look out for, and the dos and don’ts during the outing, particularly personal safety as it is easy to overlook this while busy taking pictures.
The second session was the highlight of the workshop. The participants, under the guidance of the instructors, went on a shooting spree before relaxing in the cafeteria to do their drawing. Finally, they had a treat to their senses at the Musical Box Museum where the General Manager, Mr Tay Ser Yong presented and played an amazing range of musical boxes that were on display.
The third session was where the magic happened. The participants took their time to stitch the pictures, collages and video snippets into a video slideshow with background music. The grand finale was to present everyone’s masterpiece! There was never a dull moment with different perspectives of Telok Ayer captured and presented.
Everybody was extremely happy with their own accomplishment. They were amazed that the mobile phone can be so powerful and the whole artistic creation process was so fun. Below was the feedback from the participants and we are already planning for another iOuting workshop!
- I want to share this fantastic learning experience with my friends.
- I am still editing my video. So fun! But my eyes are so tired!
- Yes, yes, I had a great time. Learned a lot in a short span of time. How fruitful! The company was great too!
Carolyn Tan, one of our participants summarised it very well, ‘it is where creativity, skills, and interactions culminate into everlasting memories.’ I am already looking forward to planning for the next iOuting workshop!
